Primary: A Stage of Integral Formation

What do we offer?

At El Pinar, Primary is synonymous with home — and that is why we work to ensure our pupils feel comfortable, growing up safe and happy.

Since Madre María de Jesús founded our school in 1954, we have taken pride in offering an integral and personalised education.

Integral: We believe in a balanced education that encompasses academic, human, social, sporting, artistic, emotional and spiritual excellence.

Personalised: We understand that every child is unique, and we adapt our strategies to their individual needs.

Our methodology

We work both individually and in cooperative groups, encouraging collaborative learning.

We combine different pedagogical methods with modern technologies, in line with the guidelines of the LOMLOE.

We implement annual research projects and thinking routines that promote critical thinking.

A committed team

Our team, made up of Sisters and teachers, works with dedication in accordance with the school's ethos to ensure the wellbeing and success of every pupil. Continuous professional development is one of our pillars, and allows us to remain up to date with the best educational practices.

We believe that education is a team effort. For this reason, we foster constant communication with families, involving the whole school community in the educational process.

Key curricular features

Primary follows the subjects established by the LOMLOE, complemented by innovative projects:

  • CLIL (Content and Language Integrated Learning) Foreign language learning through the
    teaching of subjects such as Science.
  • Drama. Theatrical performances in English to encourage linguistic fluency, alongside attendance at productions in our auditorium.
  • Cambridge Examinations We are an official Cambridge preparation and examination centre. Pupils sit an official Cambridge exam at the end of Primary.
  • English Connection Week A language immersion week with native-speaking teachers, running from 9 am to 5 pm
  • Additional English hours We add one extra hour of English per year group per week.

  • Each year group dedicates one week to a STEAM project. Through this active and innovative methodology, pupils work in cooperative groups, developing scientific, critical and global thinking. Each project culminates in a final product and a presentation for families.

  • Musical de Scrooge. Year 6 Scrooge musical in collaboration with other schools in the Vallès region.

  • First Communion Year 3 pupils prepare to receive this sacrament through catechesis sessions.
  • Monthly themes Based on values promoted by our Foundress.
  • Academic excellence From the third cycle of Primary onwards, academic and personal
